On Tuesday August 8th the Friends hosted an afternoon of ‘Tea and Flowers for 20 guests, which raised £235 for the hospital.
Judy, who runs a small flower business ‘Flowers from the Field’, facilitated the afternoon and provided the group with a stunning array of flowers from her plot in Isfield. Judy began the afternoon with a very informative talk that included tips on growing cut flowers for the house, when to cut and how to increase vase life. This was followed by a demonstration on how to put together a simple hand tied bunch after which, the guests were able to enjoy putting together an arrangement to take home. Many very colourful and varied bunches were produced and the afternoon finished with tea and cake in the garden.
It was a very enjoyable and fun afternoon. Judy even provided a print out to encourage everyone to have a go at growing their own cut flowers.
